About Shelly Ann B.
I am a mother of four wonderful children of varying ages. My philosophy as a teacher is that if I want my biological children to have great, professional teachers, then I MUST BE A GREAT, PROFESSIONAL TEACHER. This is the mindset I came into this profession with twenty-seven years ago and it has not changed. I am passionate about what I do and I enjoy seeing the children in my classroom bloom and grow. I hope to bring this passion for teaching into this Bloom Learning platform.
About My Lessons
I enjoy teaching Mathematics especially because I love to see when my students are able to solve problems in Mathematics on their own. Many students come into my classroom with the mindset that Mathematics is too difficult to understand but I begin by showing that “Mathematics is patterns and patterns make Mathematics easier”. Hopefully by the end of the time they spend in my class, I get them to change that mindset and this is what I would also like to do here at Bloom Learning.
I also believe that Creative Writing is just what the name says: Creative. I do not believe in rote writing where we teach a formula just to pass the exam. I believe that children are capable and can use their experiences to create a beautiful story. I intend to help unlock all these experiences that are within them to make them better writers.
I look forward to my lessons here at Bloom Learning.
