My name is Miss Le Shaun, and I am going to be your child’s English and Creative Writing tutor. What had started as
an attempt at a career change and a way to be productive, has now become an investment and has given me a
sense of purpose. I have over the past five years tutored students from primary to secondary school levels and
have conducted adult remedial reading sessions. For most of my experience I have tutored online on various
platforms. With the COVID-19 pandemic, learning to adapt to that situation was important and has become
advantageous. My goals were to make students feel welcomed while reducing a sense of disconnect through
curating animated and colourful videos, to have students draw and write and read freely through constructed
virtual writing and reading corners which allowed them to open up as well as look forward to the class and
improve. I have always wanted to be an efficient tutor, so I did a Certificate in the Teaching of Reading, and I
am also registered to teach.

My objective has always been to give personalised attention to my students with effective lesson plans that
would cater to each student’s needs and specific learning styles. Reading and writing are essential life skills that
are meant to be built on. Strong foundations are therefore crucial, and I look forward to helping children build
such foundations so they can have an appreciation of learning and are able to attain their goals.
